Read moreDetailsIn a monumental feat that has redefined the commercial landscape of Indian cinema, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has officially stormed into the elite ₹1,000 crore club domestically. The espionage thriller, headlined by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has not only surpassed its predecessor but has also shattered long-standing records to become the most successful Hindi-language film in history.
While several Indian films like Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 have touched the four-figure mark in India before, Dhurandhar 2 is the first-ever standalone Bollywood production to achieve a ₹1,000 crore net collection in the domestic market. Within just 18 days of its release, the film reached this “impossible” target, propelled by massive footfalls in the Hindi belt and surprising strength in its dubbed versions across South India.
The success of the film isn’t limited to Indian borders. Globally, Dhurandhar 2 has crossed the ₹1,500 crore gross mark, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2026 so far. It has also emerged as the top-performing Indian title in North America, overtaking giants like Baahubali 2.
Box Office Breakdown (Approximate):
India Net Collection: ₹1,005+ Crore
Worldwide Gross: ₹1,564+ Crore
Opening Day: ₹150 Crore (Worldwide)

Industry analysts attribute this unprecedented success to Aditya Dhar’s “deadly precise” storytelling and Ranveer Singh’s powerhouse performance. Blending high-octane espionage with real-life geopolitical references, the film resonated deeply with the masses. Despite receiving mixed reviews from some critics regarding its intense violence, the audience’s response has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to high occupancy even in its third week.
What makes this record even more significant is that the film achieved these numbers despite the ongoing IPL season and without the benefit of a long holiday weekend.
With this sequel, the Dhurandhar franchise has now collectively out-earned major cinematic universes like Baahubali and Pushpa in total lifetime collections. The film features a stellar ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, whose roles have been lauded for adding gravitas to the high-stakes drama.
As Dhurandhar 2 continues its steady run in over 9,000 screens across the country, trade experts predict it might set an even higher ceiling, potentially eyeing the ₹1,100 crore mark in India before its theatrical journey concludes. For now, Bollywood has found its new gold standard.
