हमारी ज़िन्दगी के हर मोड़ पर,
फ़ैसला हमारा ही हो — ये ज़रूरी तो नहीं,
कई बार वक़्त की मुट्ठी में दबकर,
हम अपनी ही राहों के मुसाफ़िर नहीं रहते कहीं।
बचपन में पुस्तकों का बोझ,
माँ-बाप की उम्मीदों का साया,
पढ़ना तो हम भी चाहते थे,
पर क्या पढ़ना है — ये चुनाव उनका था, “हमें बस निभाना आया।”
भाई-बहन की ज़िम्मेदारियों में,
अपने अरमान कहीं छूट गए,
उनकी मुस्कान के लिए हम,
खुद के सपनो से रूठ गए।
नौकरी मिलती भी है तो वही,
जो किस्मत लिख दे राहों में,
कश्ती हम चलाते हैं,
पर तूफ़ान तय करते हैं किनारों में।
रिश्तों की गली में भी,
हर पसंद हमारी नहीं होती,
कभी समाज की नज़र,
कभी रिवाज़ों की गोली सी चुभती रोती।
किसी को पति मिल जाता बिना चाहे,
किसी को पत्नी मिलती समझौते की तरह,
जीते तो हैं साथ-साथ हम,
पर दिल रह जाता अलग ही किसी कोने में ठहर।
माँ-बाप बूढ़े हों तो फिर,
खुद की दुनिया पीछे छूट जाती है,
अपनी खुशियाँ ताक पर रखकर,
ज़िम्मेदारी मुस्कुराकर हाथ थाम लेती है।
और कभी-कभी रिश्ते ही सवाल बन जाते हैं,
“किसे चुनें, किसे छोड़ें?” — ये घड़ी रुला जाती है,
दिल चाहता है अपना फ़ैसला हो,
पर हालात के हथकड़ी सब कुछ छीन ले जाती है।
ज़िंदगी के इस सफ़र में,
हम बस किरदार निभाते हैं,
फ़ैसलों की ये बाज़ी वक़्त जीते,
और हम… चुपचाप हार जाते हैं।
